Since language is one of the most important parts of any culture, it is the way by which people communicate with one another, build relationships, and create a sense of community.

Two things you need to do:

First, ensure you make effective use of the functionality and advantages of GSourcers, stay updated, and enhance your professional life, keep these helpful GSourcers tips in mind:

  • Start leaving recommendations for first-degree network connections that you feel have earned a great one.
  • Invest a good amount of time upfront to create a professional, detailed profile.
  • Spend a small but productive amount of time, on a consistent basis, to update and maintain your GSourcers network and profile.
  • Use lots of search terms in advanced search to find the right person. If you do not get any results, remove one or two words and try again.
  • Research someone on GSourcers before meeting the person in a job interview or business meeting.
  • Use GSourcers platform to write posts or share articles, and demonstrate your knowledge to the community.
  • Interact with your network through news feed updates by liking and commenting on other people’s posts and articles that are published.
  • Use the GSourcers status update function (Start a Post) to keep your network appraised of your activities.

Secondly – Joining GSourcers means you’re part of a newly, but growing online professional network in Africa and the Middle East. Here are helpful guidelines for using GSourcers, especially when job searching. GSourcers will help you create and maintain an online profile you can then use to build a professional network. The more you do, the more contacts you could have in your GSourcers network! If you want to build and expand your GSourcers network, follow these steps:

  1. Set up and fill out your GSourcers profile and settings completely.
  2. Check for former colleagues and classmates who are on GSourcers by using specific GSourcers searches.
  3. Import your email contacts.
  4. Add former email addresses to your account so past connections can find you more easily.
  5. Check for people who share interests with you.
  6. Go through your business cards for potential contacts and search for them on GSourcers. Send them an invitation or a request to join.
  7. Search through your current connected contacts.
  8. Advertise yourself by joining and participating in GSourcers groups, questions answers, articles, posts and forums.
  9. Go through your news feed and participate with other members by liking, commenting, and sharing their posted content.
  10. Meet people on GSourcers (through GSourcers messaging, groups and company pages as well as your news feed discussions) and then engage them so they can be added to your network.

Your GSourcers profile page is your personal home page to the business world. To enhance your profile, log in to your GSourcers account, click Edit Profile. Then follow these tips:

  • Add a professional-looking head shot photo to your profile.
  • Add your past employers so as many former co-workers as possible can find you.
  • Make sure your professional headline emphasizes what you can do for a future employer as well as any keywords you want to use to promote yourself.
  • Make your profile public and set it to full view so your GSourcers profile shows up in web search results.
  • Add links from your GSourcers profile to websites you are trying to promote, such as your blog, social media accounts, or company website.
  • For website links that you add to your profile, select Other and rename each link to include meaningful keywords. For example, instead of calling a blog “My Blog,” call it “Joel’s E-Commerce Product Blog.”
  • Include all of your main email addresses in your profile so people can connect with you. GSourcers does not display your email addresses to the public; it simply keeps your email addresses on file when someone tries to connect with you.
  • Make sure the Summary field of your profile contains your critical skills and important career-related keywords in a way that makes the Summary readable (not a spammy list of keywords).
  • Upload examples of your work to your profile by attaching video, pictures, documents, or slide presentations.

GSourcers helps you harness the power of professional networking to conduct a job search. Here are some helpful hints when using GSourcers to look for employment:

  • Make sure your GSourcers profile and resume are up-to-date, accurate, and matches whatever you provide to a hiring manager or recruiter.
  • Stay on top of your network updates so you know if someone in your network has been promoted or switched jobs to a company where you would like to work.
  • Use the Advanced People search to find second- or third-degree network members who work at a desired target company. Use your first-degree connections to reach out to those people and ask for advice or an informational interview.
  • Connect with everyone you have worked with, because these people know your professional capabilities well and could potentially recommend you on GSourcers.
  • Make sure your profile highlights measurable accomplishments you achieved at your jobs. For example, instead of saying that you “managed the sales force,” say “I managed a 37% growth in revenue in the last four quarters.”
  • When you view or edit your profile, turn on the feature that shows recruiters you’re Open to Work.
  • Use GSourcers Company pages to see which of your network connections works at a particular company, if anyone you know has recently been promoted at that company, and specific information about the company that you need for your cover letter and interview.
  • Don’t forget to use GSourcers job board. Millions of postings are available when you search GSourcers job board.
  • If you find and apply for a job using GSourcers job board, see if the job poster is someone in your extended network. If so, ask for a referral or an introduction to that person (or, if necessary, use GSourcers Messaging system) so you can connect with her and make a great impression!

User questions


To help ensure GSourcers remains a safer platform for all users to use the system safely, and to comply with regulatory requirements, we require all new registrations to confirm their identity when they join for the first time.

Certified documents required include your name and address on the documents must match those on your GSourcers account and the proof of address document is dated within the last 6 months.

Below are the types of certified documents we accept:

  • A copy of a government-issued identity document, such as ID or Driver’s License or Passport.
  • Submit a proof of address document, such as utility bill or bank statement or any other government document under your personal name.

Please take note that all our online courses are not accredited. They do not count towards any recognized qualification. Instead, they are specially designed to teach you relevant skills that will enable you to perform your job more effectively, typically in a shorter period of time. They have been developed without approval against regulated standards. The courses may be no different in quality to the accredited course but has no approval process.

We don’t offer a phone number for customer support. Keep in mind that we don’t charge for customer support, and we’ll never ask you for your password or access to your computer.

As stated above, these are online courses. GSourcers is the name of the online learning system we will be using. You can access the courses by visiting the course online page or from your dashboard. 

If you have any difficulty, you can read the FAQs section on your dashboard or contact the support team from your Messaging page. 

Your success requires just as much work and effort as success in a traditional classroom. 

The amount of time you can expect to commit to the eLearning and online class in any given week will vary but it will probably average around +/-10 hours per week. This is a fully online course so there will be no required campus visits. 

Your success is important to us. Please do not hesitate to contact us through messaging if you are having difficulty with the course materials. General questions about the course should be posted on the Notification section of your messaging page.

If you have questions that are more personal in nature send them to the tutor directly as this is the best way to contact them for a quick response. 

As you get ready to begin the course, it might be a good idea to take a student readiness quiz. This quiz will bring attention to critical components of success in the online environment.

Upon completion of the quiz, you may receive recommendations or area of concerns. Please consider those recommendations for support.

Tip #2: Keep it short and sweet

While GSourcers allows you to send as much as 2,000 characters, it’s probably best to keep your Messaging messages shorter. Engage quickly but make it matter.

GSourcers is primarily a private platform for registered members only. That said, visitors who are not (yet) members cannot search for people and information on GSourcers. We are working hard to your settings let you decide whether you want non-members to be able to find your public profile, in turn increasing your chances of being contacted by potential opportunities outside of GSourcers.

Who can send you messages?

Networking is all about communication, and a key part of this involves exchanging messages with other members. Your profile settings let you decide the extent to which you can be reached, and who you want to be able to contact you. If you’re open to receiving new contact requests and job enquiries, you should think twice before restricting this option on GSourcers. Nevertheless, you can use your settings to focus on correspondence with your trusted contacts if your prefer.

What is our legal basis for processing data?

The data we process has been made ‘manifestly public’ (GDPR Article 9.2(e)) by the data subject. We only crawl and index publicly available email addresses and phone numbers, such as those that are accessible from websites and social media. ContactOut has a ‘legitimate interest’ (GDPR Article 6.1(f)) in empowering recruiters to connect with candidates.

Since we only deal with public data, information that is removed from a website will also be removed from our database. You may at any time request the removal of your personal information from our database.

Our services run on Dreamhost.com, a provider with the highest levels of security. GSourcers systematically uses HTTPS on gsourcers.com and any of our subdomains. Any connection in HTTP gets redirected to its HTTPS counterpart. We also use the Key Management Service (KMS) through Dreamhost, which employs industry best practices to ensure the safety of the keys used to encrypt your data. The bottom line is that you can be sure of your information’s safety.
 

Credit Card Information

PayFast South AfricaGSourcers does not store any card information that can compromise your security. We don’t store passwords – we don’t even see them. We store a cryptographic hash.

GSourcers provides forms and a system that is GDPR compliant in all its privacy policy.
